MOVING!!

Posted by : | May 10, 2012

It feels like I’ve been in “blog paralysis” for a while and paradoxically for good reason…I’ve been MOVING!! That’s right the Miranda’s have moved into a new home and we are officially done after about a month of pure craziness. You know the saying, “You don’t how much stuff you have until you actually move” well I have a new saying : “you don’t know what kind of stuff you have until you actually move”. Here’s just a few things I discovered :

CREEPER ALERT!! : Like I didn’t know I owned this guy – How did this ever creep into my house? Did I win this at “Santa’s Enchanted Forest” one year? I think I may have had a poltergeist!!!

BIEBER ALERT!! : Okay this is not actually mine but it was on the wall of my 10 year old daughter’s bedroom. (Deep Sigh) I don’t know what’s worse the “Terrible Two’s” or the “Terrible Tweens”!!

TREND ALERT!! :  I also discovered that the women in the household have turned the first aid kit into an emotional heart shaped box that apparently heals all emotional wounds as well as all physical ones.

I realized through this move that moving’s kind of like going back to school. You know those pre-school gitters you get about new teachers, new friends, different class routes, new clothes, etc… and then when school starts you’re like, “What the heck was I excited about…it’s SCHOOL!! That’s what moving feels like…. you get the tape, bubble wrap, learn a new driving route, boxes, you put your name and number on those boxes, and then 30 boxes later, you’re just writing “stuff” and kicking a bunch of boxes to the curb…..stupid boxes. On the other hand, I’m thankful for the enormous blessing of transitioning from a two story town-home into a home that has a pool and a yard that my kids and I can play in. I’m thankful for having a new living space I can mold and make a home out of to fit my family’s functions. I’m thankful that, while I’m busy figuring where to put what, I also get to make room for new memories in the years to come. Above all, I’m thankful that I can share these experiences with friends and family. Like a famous poet once said, “The ornament of a house is the friends that frequent it” . So with that in mind, if you wish to beautify my new establishment, drop a comment below or send me a message!!

Sam: Hope the manuscript made it with you. Wouldn’t hurt my feelings too bad if you decided it wasn’t worth taking but it was DD’s and might hold some sentimental value for her, especially as it’s an original copy, BEFORE the revised version getting ready to come out soon in electronic publication. If it is lost though, don’t sweat it. I’ll come up with something for her. Above all, blessings and good fortune to you and enjoy that pool. The only way to justify the upkeep is to use it regularly and enjoy it. Now, among the “accumulations,” you may find you will “accumulate” more “friends” than you ever imagined. Just be sure to remind them of the etiquette of good “pool manners” that says, “If you’re going to throw a pool party at your friend’s house, aside from ‘no running around the pool getting hurt and driving up their insurance rates’, be sure and bring enough refreshments for everyone!” Otherwise your host might get eaten out of house and home. Enjoy it young friend. Take it from someone who knows. It’s going to be a great experience. I’m happy for you.

Frank, unfortunately I lost the manuscript with all this craziness but I did get a chance to read most of it. It was a great insightful journey into the economic history of this country…can’t wait to read the final version. As soon as we settle in I’ll have to have you guys over…thanks for stopping by the site!!
